Rub A Dub Dub, This Girl and Her Tub
I haven't posted in almost a month!! I have a million pictures to catch up on but I wanted to share the most recent ones. I took these this morning during Mia's bath. She gets all wound up when she gets a bath so she takes them in the morning. We learned the hard way about giving her a bath before bedtime. Probably it has something to do with the fact that I have to grease her up with Aquaphor after her bath. Aquaphor is the consistency of Vaseline. She has the driest skin ever and can't use any smell good baby lotion or it breaks her out. She LOVES her bath and tries to eat the wash cloth and drink the water. Most of the time she pees as soon as I put her in the warm water. She is getting so big and I have to say SUPER CUTE!!!!

And Round One Goes To... Mia!!!!
Mia is a very good baby but her sleep habits (or lack there of) leave me exhausted. She doesn't want to take naps and if she does she will only sleep for like 30 mins. And we won't even talk about night time. She was getting so much better and sleeping through the night but now she is reverting back to her rougher days. The pictures below are after an especially bad night. She has a scratch under her nose and one on her cheek. She showed sleep who the boss was but honestly I'm ready for sleep to win a few rounds again!
She is proud of her victory!!

Mystery Monday
I always have these questions that no one can seem to answer. Granted they aren't brainbusters they just aren't your average questions that you can just Google. I've posed this question to a few people and they aren't quite sure but shook their head in wonder and now I'm sure, are up at night wondering the same thing. So here is the first question for Mystery Monday.

Voyage of the Mimi
We had a great trip to SC and NC. Mia is pretty good in the car thankfully. We had a blast in NC with Dave's sister's family. We took some family pictures at the Duke Gardens but it was sooo hot Mia was very miserable. We did get a few good shots of her. She has grown so much and is large and in charge! Being her mom is the BEST!!

In Loving Memory...
When we were in SC recently visiting my family, my grandparents dog passed away. She was more than just a pet to them and it was so sad to hear of her loss. I remember when they got Sissie and how much they have loved her over the years. My heart goes out to my grandparents but thankfully we all have great memories of Sissie.

Family First
I love my family so much and love it when they come to visit. Thank goodness for Mia because we have a lot more visitors now and we love it. My sister and her family were in town and they were loving all over our girl. My niece and nephew Grace and Luke loved Mia and thought it was hilarious that she didn't have any teeth. They kept making me lift her lips to show them her gums. I was cracking up. So here's an open invite to any friends and family who want to come and visit us and meet our lil sassafras Mia! We would love to have you!
Mia is waving goodbye to all her visitors. She says "Y'all come back now, ya hear".

Blessed Day
Mia was blessed Sunday, June 1st and we were so blessed to have most of my family in town. Most of the Chapman gang was present and I LOVED having my siblings all together. It was a rare treat. Mia wore the same dress I was blessed in and looked beautiful. Dave did a great job and I am so thankful for the priesthood he holds. She slept through her blessing and was an angel through sacrament. She really likes to show off! It was a perfect day that is one of my favorite memories. We missed you mom, "Get Well Soon!" . We missed Kim and the kids too!!

Mia's appointment with the cardiologist
Mia's cardiology appt went well, and the Dr. was great. The cardiologist said that Mia does have a murmur, but it is a functional murmur (patent foramen ovale) and everything is normal. Her blood pressure was normal and they did a doppler echocardiogram, which showed the blood flow and blood vessels all to be normal. It was a huge relief to finally get some good news at the Dr.'s office. Mia now weighs 8 lbs 4 oz which is 5 oz more than she weighed on Tuesday. Thanks for all the support.

Mia Oh My!!
Well this motherhood thing is amazing and amazingly hard! Of course I expected the late night feedings, no sleep, and a million other things to drive me crazy but what I didn't expect was the jaundice and now the Dr is sending us to a pediatric cardiologist because they think she might have a heart murmur. When the last At Home nurse came by she said she heard a murmur so our pediatrician's office called us and asked us to come in and have the Dr double check. Heart murmurs are common in newborns but the Dr thought the murmur was not in the area where they normally hear it in a newborn. So Mia has her 3rd Dr's appt in less than 2 weeks tomorrow. I'm sure everything will be ok (a lot of people have heart murmurs and live perfectly healthy lives) but whew. Welcome to motherhood I guess. I love every minute of it and wouldn't trade it for the world. She really is a sweet baby and I love being her mom!
Mia's super cute cherry dress from Sherstine is one of the only things that actually fits her right now!
Every once in awhile we get lucky and Mia smiles and giggles in her sleep "baby zen" state as I call it.
Don't worry I only let her sleep on her side for a second. She would sleep that way all the time if I let her I think.

Mia is Soaking Up Some Rays
Mia had her first Dr's appointment yesterday. She was a trooper but was pretty hungry so she cried most of the visit. When we left the hospital Tues Mia's pediatrician told us she had some jaundice but it wasn't too bad. Well when they checked it again at the appt yesterday her number had doubled so we had to have a at home health service bring a bilirubin light bed out for Mia to be in most of the time. If she isn't nursing or getting a diaper change she has to be in there. They also said her weight had dropped a little to 7 lbs 7 oz. I thought I would be so tough about the whole jaundice thing but when I saw Dave put her in that little bed it broke my heart. But I am very grateful that jaundice is something that can be taken care of and treated fairly easily. The At Home nurse stopped by this morning and weighed her and took some blood. She is already back up to 7 lbs 9 oz which is what they told us she weighed when we left the hospital. She is eating so much better and has a million dirty diapers now. I really think the light bed is doing it's job. Hopefully she won't have to stay in it much longer.

In My Mind I'm Goin' to Carolina...
Last weekend Dave and I made a trip out to Sparkle City for my fam to see "Big Momma" in real life. Let's just say there was a lot of open mouth stares of unbelief. I can't blame them really. I had a fantastic shower by my mom and sis in laws. We all had a blast. It was great to get together with family and friends that I just don't get to see enough. Being so big and prego we didn't do much that weekend but just had a fun time hangin out. My mom and I (well, I supervised) made some really cute baby headbands. Other than that we ate and lounged around which happens to be my two favorite things to do. It was soooo nice to be home and be pampered by my family who was horrified by my swollen feet, hands, face... well everything.
My cousin's wife Tiffany came to my shower and she is due one day before me. Yes I wanted to physically harm her that she looks so great and I some how look like a giant triangle stomach. She might be the most gorgeous prego I've ever seen.
My aunt is cracking up in the background because we are the queens of inside jokes. I opened this light saber at my shower and almost pee'd my pants I was laughing so hard. No one else at the shower had any idea why we were laughing so hard but we got a HUGE kick out of it. Everyone wanted to know the inside joke but we'll take it to our graves!! The funniest thing was I almost bought her the same thing. We are two peas in a pod!!
